The okubahal area is the pride of the Nepal. The location is a museum of traditional Nepalese art and architecture. According to some historians and researchers okubahal is the probable birth place of national personality sculptor arniko. Still the artists and sculptors of okubahal are determined to keep the Nepalese art and architecture alive. To name some great artists of okubahal are Late Haku ju, Late Muni ju, Late Ratnamuni ju, Late Kalyan singha Dev, Late Chitrananda, Late Panchajyoti, Late Kuber Shin, Late Keshraj, Late Manjyoti, Late Harsha ratna, Late Boddhiraj, Late Dharmaraj, Late Siddhiraj, Late Nuchheraj etc.

Among the living artists over 65 years are named Siddhi Raj Shakya, Bhim Shakya, Punya Raj Shakya, Jagat Man Shakya and Kalu Kumha . Script specialist pandit hem Raj Shakya who is honored by more than 50 letters of honor and various medals is a shining star of this locality. New generatoin is enthusiastic and dedicated towards the traditional craftsmanship and becoming a future artists, among them Raj Kumar Shakya, Dharma Raj Shakya and Rajesh Awale have been honored with national awards.

Mahabuddha Okubahal Occupational traditional Craftmen's cooperative is established for the development of the artists of this colony. A group of local artists have also established a joint venture organization called Templa Crafts Thaina for excellence in art and architecture.

Such Tibetan monasteries are hardly found in the whole kingdom where the art of this locality are not installed. Their art are also spread among international monasteries. Infact, Okubahal is better known among the art lovers as the center of Nepalese art and architecture.
